For casino dealer schools

Drill payouts on their phone. Keep class time on the felt.

Instructor table hours are your biggest cost after rent. Riffle & Box moves payout math, pay order and house-rule drills onto students’ phones between classes, and gives your instructors a proctored gauntlet and a printable readiness report.

By track

What students drill on their phone, and what you keep on the felt

Blackjack and table games

On their phone: Blackjack pays at 3 to 2 and 6 to 5, pay order, pai gow poker and Pai Gow Tiles, and the other table-games payouts and procedures.

On your felt: Pitch, shoe, chip cutting, card pickup order, posture and calling the floor.

Proctored gauntlet: 50-hand blackjack gauntlet, 49 right to pass. Pai Gow Tiles has its own 50-item gauntlet, 49 right to pass.

Craps

On their phone: Place bets, true odds, horn bets, hop bets, presses and come bets.

On your felt: Stick handling, calls, chips in the rack and working with a base partner.

Proctored gauntlet: Base gauntlet, 45 of 50 to pass. Stick gauntlet, 27 of 30 to pass.

Poker

On their phone: Pot counts, rake and drop, making change, side pots, Omaha Hi-Lo and stud.

On your felt: Pitch, deck grip, the shuffle, burns and turns, and table control.

Proctored gauntlet: A 50-item gauntlet in Hold’em.

Your instructor proctors the gauntlets in blackjack, craps and Hold’em. A gauntlet is not a license, and we don’t promise any audition result.

Why schools lose table hours to arithmetic

A student with only a paper manual does their first two hundred payouts standing at your live table while the class waits. Your instructor ends up calling out “thirty-five at three to two is fifty-two fifty” instead of fixing a pitch release or a chip cut. Riffle & Box drills payouts, pots, pay tables and procedures on the student’s phone, so every hour on your felt goes to hand mechanics.

What your school gets

See who practiced before class

The floor dashboard shows every student and every game with one mark: passed, how many sections done, or not started. Filter for who is stuck on a section.

Proctored gauntlets

Your instructor opens a session and reads a code to the student. A pass under that code shows as proctored. A pass a student ran alone never does.

Your local rules

Set your pay tables and rules once. Students’ apps deal from them, so they practice the game your graduates will deal.

A readiness PDF with a verification code

A printable one-page report per student for the training file. Anyone can check the code against what we hold at riffleandbox.com/verify/. It confirms the result, not who is holding the paper.

Practice stays private

Unscored practice stays on the student’s phone. We keep a student’s email, a name or student ID, and their graded results. We delete a student’s data on request.

Built to feed schools, not replace them

An app can’t teach your hands.

Card pitching, chip cutting and stick work need a real table and a live instructor. Riffle & Box says so in the apps and in every guide. Want a place to start? Try the horn bet payout guide. Choosing software? Read what to ask a casino dealer training vendor.

How a school pilot works

  1. 1A 20-minute call about your classes, your schedule and the casinos and card rooms your graduates audition for.
  2. 2We set up your school’s rules and send your lead instructor an admin code for the floor dashboard.
  3. 3A few students join on their phones and drill between table sessions.
  4. 4A check-in at 30 days: who’s ready, who’s stuck, what to change.

Check it yourself before the call.

Here is a sample readiness report and the check page its code opens. Both use made-up names (Sample Room, Dealer A) and are marked as sample data.

Questions school owners ask

What software do casino dealer schools use to test payout speed and proctor a final?
Dealer schools use Riffle & Box to move payout arithmetic and house-rule drills onto students’ phones between classes, so class time stays on pitching, chip work and the stick. When a student is ready to test, the instructor opens a session and reads a code to the student. A pass under that code shows as a proctored pass on the floor dashboard. A pass a student ran alone never does.
Can you learn to be a casino dealer on an app, or do you still need a dealer school?
You still need a real table and a live instructor. Pitching cards, cutting chips and running the stick are hand skills, and an app can’t teach them. Riffle & Box drills the payouts, pots, pay tables and procedures, so students spend school hours on their hands.
What does Riffle & Box cost for a dealer school?
$300 setup, $600/yr, $50 per student per app. Ask for a 20-minute call and we’ll go through your classes, your games and your students.

Also: card rooms and casinos.

Built by a dealer who’s dealt poker and table games in casinos and card rooms. Riffle & Box is a training tool. It doesn’t replace live training or a gaming license.
